"The Ranch Wife is an elemental western tale, spare and subtle as the smell of snow coming. Yet it is also a profoundly human story about the distance between hearts and less-traveled crossroads. Robert Cooperman imbues it with a grace peculiar to poets of place, especially in the West, where the landscape heals more completely than any wounded heart, and where every day we seek the permission of the sky."--Ron Franscell
Robert Cooperman is the author of ten previous poetry collections, most recently My Shtetl (Logan House) and Letters to Juliet (March Street Press). In the Colorado Gold Fever Mountains (Western Reflections) won the Colorado Book Award for Poetry in 2000. The Widow's Burden (Western Reflections) was runner up for the WILLA LIterary Award from Women Writing the West. Cooperman lives in Denver with his wife Beth.
